BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A substitute teacher in Texas faces criminal charges after she allegedly had an affair with a 14-year-old student and became pregnant with their love child.

Amanda Sotelo, a married mother of two, allegedly admitted to police to having a months-long sexual relationship with a 14-year-old friend of her daughter’s who was also a former student.

Sotelo, 36, allegedly has sex with the minor at least once a week for several months before she learned she was pregnant during a hospital emergency room visit in September, the Daily Mail reports.

Sotelo was arrested and charged with indecency with a child after the boy’s mother contacted police in Bexar County, Texas. Sotelo worked as a substitute teacher at several schools in the county, the news site reports.

“She’s in jail but that’s about the only thing we’ve heard. We’ve got a lot of family problems going on right now,” Johnny Lopez, Sotelo’s son-in-law, told the Daily Mail.

Sotelo was fired from the school district.
