REDLANDS, Calif. – A California teacher who mothered a child with her 16-year-old student is now facing additional charges after two more victims came forward.

Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst, 28, was recently charged with 41 counts of sex and oral copulation with a minor stemming from her alleged “sextracurricular activities” with three former students, including the father of her child, the Daily Mail reports.

The most recent relationship involved a 16-year-old student with whom Whitehurst allegedly began having sex with at her apartment last summer. The year-long relationship continued as the teacher reportedly became pregnant with the student’s child. The alleged victim was reportedly present at the baby’s delivery June 18, according to the news site.

The student’s mother later discovered the relationship and contacted school officials, who reported the situation to police.

Whitehurst was arrested last week and placed on leave by the school district, according to media reports.

Since then, two more alleged victims have come forward, one who was 14 and another who was 16 at the time of their alleged sexual relationships with Whitehurst.

One victim, who is now 20, told police he had sex with Whitehurst in her classroom, apartment and car. He has not been identified by police. The other victim, Michael Cooper, now 22, recently discussed his relationship with Whitehurst with NBC4.

Cooper “said the class had been told to write about their dreams and afterwards, Whitehurst told him she had dreamed of kissing him during a school field trip.

“I didn’t have anything to say really,” Cooper told NBC4. “I was like, ‘Oh really, that’s crazy,’ and a couple of days later, we ended up actually kissing.”

Cooper said two weeks later he spent the night at his teacher’s apartment and began having sex with Whitehurst a few times a month, but didn’t consider himself a victim, NBC4 reports.

“When it happens, you’re kind of like, all right, this is pretty badass,” Cooper said. “You know, my teacher is into me. I was 17 and I was having a good time is what it was.

“I didn’t feel like a victim; I’m not scarred for life or anything. To be honest, I had a good time when it was going on.”

Cooper told the television station he eventually found a girlfriend and ended the relationship with Whitehurst without any issues.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Whitehurst this week: 30 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and 11 counts of oral copulation of a person under 18, the Daily Mail reports.

She faces up to 29 years in prison if convicted, according to the news site.
