MANASSAS, Va. – An elementary school principal is out of a job after state investigators discovered he fabricated all four of the college degrees listed on his résumé.

MyFoxDC.com reports Robin Toogood was removed as leader of Jennie Dean Elementary School after discrepancies about his educational background came to light. The ironically named Toogood claimed to hold a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and two doctorates while, in fact, he may have only earned a high school diploma.

From MyFoxDC.com:

Toogood claimed he had a doctorate from Andover Theological Seminary which turned out to be not true. In a letter revoking his teaching license, Virginia education officials found his degree was “fictitious.”

He also claimed he had a master’s degree from Trinity Washington University in Washington D.C., but he did not. Investigators say Toogood “fabricated” that document.

He also said he had a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland-Baltimore campus, but that wasn’t true either. The report says the paperwork was altered to make it look like he had earned something he didn’t.

And his doctorate in education from Regent University in Virginia Beach? It turned out they had never heard of him.

Perhaps most surprising is that school employees say Toogood was actually good at running the elementary school. According to comments made on MyFoxDC’s Facebook page, Toogood served as principal for five years before his Big Lie was discovered.

The school will have a new principal in place before the school year begins on Sept. 2. Taxpayers hope Manassas City school leaders will be a little more careful about who they hire to work with their children in the future.

Perhaps Toogood isn’t the only one who should be fired as a result of this devastating discovery.
