According to a sheriff’s office report, “the responding officer spoke to several people at Boone Hill Road and Logan Drive who said they had awakened the driver and she had driven away down Boone Hill Road. The officer was unable to catch up to the vehicle until they were out of the city limits,” the Journal Scene reports.

O’Rear was allegedly driving erratically, crossing over into oncoming traffic and “driving 25 mph in a 55 mph zone.”

After she was pulled over, the drivers ed teacher reportedly told the officer she had two or three beers at a bar, according to ABC 4.

According to the incident report, O’Rear failed the “Horizontal Gaze,”  “Walk and Turn,” and “One Leg Stand” field sobriety tests.

The news station reports the school administrator refused a breath test.

The Summerville High School website lists O’Rear as an assistant principal who oversees “9th grade A-K, the fine arts departments, PE, Driver’s Ed and NJROTC.”
