FOLKESTONE, England – A man in England was jailed for four years after he dropped his son off at nursery school with a satchel full of drugs.

Lee Webb, 23, dropped his 3 year old son off at the Smarty Pants Nursery in Folkestone, Kent recently, but instead of leaving a bag with his lunch, Webb accidentally left a “drug dealer’s kit” containing cocaine and mephedrone, two knives, weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia, SWNS.com reports.

When he realized what he’d done, he went back to the school in an attempt to retrieve the bag, but school officials refused to turn it over and called the police. Authorities also searched Webb’s home and found about $1,034, according to the news site.

The crime, which occurred last March, didn’t sit well with the judge when Webb was sentenced to four years in prison this week, according to the Huffington Post.

“In effect, you left your son there with a drug dealer’s kit!” Judge James O’Mahony told Webb.

“Your stupidity put children at risk and I consider the potential exposure to children of these drugs is so serious only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified,” O’Mahony said, according to SWNS.

Webb, a father of two who works for a power company as a tree surgeon, admitting to possessing the drugs, but said he was holding the bag overnight for someone else.

O’Mahony, however, wasn’t in the mood for his excuses.

“You maintain that you were holding the drugs on behalf of another and that you were expecting to be paid in cash for holding the drugs,” the judge said, according to the news site. “You must have been well trusted by those further up the chain although you indicated you felt intimidated by the individual you assisted.

“Yet you have rejected an opportunity to give evidence in relation to this man and, in reality, profits from selling drugs mean that those involved are invariably intimidating.”

“The judge added that he accepted that giving the drugs for his son to take to nursery had been a mistake – and Webb was now genuinely remorseful,” according to the Mirror.
