SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – There’s a price to pay for being too good.

Yes, a 159-point difference.

The school board suspended coach Michael Anderson for two games after the epic beatdown.

The Press Enterprise reports the team’s victory “sparked controversy over sportsmanship and fairness.”

The Arroyo Valley team has its way with a number of teams.

“Arroyo Valley had already won games by 73, 81, 74 and 98 points,” according to the Daily Bulletin.

In response, losing coach Dale Chung says it’s Arroyo Valley that people should feel sorry for.

“People shouldn’t feel sorry for my team. They should feel sorry for his team, which isn’t learning the game the right way,” he tells the paper, referring to Anderson.

“I’ve known him for about seven years … He’s a great Xs and Os coach. Ethically? Not so much,” Chung said. “He knows what he did was wrong.”

The Sporting News reports Arroyo Valley “used a full-court trap for the entire first half, which resulted in a 104-1 halftime score.”

Believe it or not, the team has actually lost a game this year and its record is 15-1.
