AMERICA – A recent video clip posed to Reddit is exposing a teacher’s penchant for lingerie, and serving as a reminder for technologically challenged educators to double check their computer settings.

Reddit user D3Gamma posted a roughly five second video clip Saturday titled “Uh Oh! Forgot to turn off the projector?” taken during a recent math lesson at an unnamed school in the United States. The clip shows a male math teacher resting his chin on his hand as he sits behind a podium on his computer, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the machine is still projecting on a large screen in front of the classroom, the Daily Mail reports.

The teacher also seems oblivious to the fact that a student is recording as he perused several lingerie ads on eBay.com.

The Daily Mail, the Mirror and other European websites noticed the video and followed up with stories featuring freeze images of teacher and his online browsing habits, and contacted with the student who recorded the incident last week.

“He never found out,” D3Gamma told the Mirror. “After this class ended he switched to the next class’ assignments. So he doesn’t know it wasn’t turned off or ‘frozen on a screen.’”

In response to an inquiry by another Reddit user, D3Gamma said it was the regular classroom teacher who made the mistake, not a substitute.

“He’s not the best at teaching to say the least,” D3Gamma wrote, adding that many students were too distracted with their phones to realize what was on the projector.

“I think it’s better for the teacher to not have realized that it was on,” D3Gamma posted. “If he did find out mid class he would have been extremely embarrassed Right now he thinks no one knows.”

The news sites provide no other details about the teacher’s gaffe.

Folks who commented about the incident online offered a wide variety of reactions.

“Shopping for his girlfriend or wife!? How scandalous!” SGinNC posted to the Daily Mail. “Could have been worse … He could have been caught looking at half the articles on the Daily Mail with even more skin on display.”

“Anybody who looks at naughty pictures, or shops, etc. while at work should be fired. Especially when you are a teacher around kids or teens,” PurpleColorado wrote. “This helps explain why the U.S. is behind the rest of the world with education. This creep probably has tenure, and can’t be fired for not doing his job of teaching, and being paid to surf images of scantily clad women. This is something you do at home, not work.”

“’Scantily clad women’ aside, do you not take breaks at work?” freedom4all countered. “Maybe, the kids were taking a test and it was a perfect opportunity to buy that gift for his wife for their anniversary, or whatever. He isn’t a creep for looking at this, nor should he be fired. It was a stupid mistake, but not one that merits firing.”

“I don’t know what I would do if it happened to me,” shamzine posted. “Plus this is online news portal where the whole world can see your face and know what you did. It must be embarrassing life afterwards for him.”
