BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A middle school dean of students is suspended amid a district investigation into a video posted to Facebook over the weekend that appears to show him guzzling booze in the back seat of moving SUV.
Lakeview School District officials confirmed that Lakeview Middle School Dean of Students Travis May appeared in a Facebook video drinking a bottle of Crown Royal with three friends after Saturday’s University of Michigan versus Michigan State football game, WWMT reports.

The video, which was initially broadcast on Facebook Live by one of the participants, shows the men heading down the road in the SUV while singing along to rap songs and passing the open container of liquor among them.
At one point in the video, May – who is riding in the back – appears to be highly intoxicated and leans his head against the front seat.
“This boy hurtin. This boy hurtin,” his friends mocked in the video. “He going nite-nite. He going nite-nite.”
“Some people just can’t hang with the Chitown boys,” said one of the men as another in the back seat flashed his can of Bud Light before downing the beer.
“That boy went nite-nite,” the man repeated when the camera panned back to May, who appeared to have thrown up and flipped his middle finger to the camera.

Later in the roughly 5-minute video, May appears to throw the cup he used to catch his discharge out the window.
“Some people are just not meant for life on the road,” his buddy joked.
All four of the men, including the driver, appear to be drinking alcohol during the video, which is illegal in Michigan.
Shortly before the video cuts out, it pans back to May one last time.
“T. May, one last view of him,” the camera man said as May flashed a peace sign. “A real good role model for the kids.”
Lakeview Middle School parent Staci McKee was not impressed with what she saw.
“I think it’s pretty sickening,” she told WWMT. “He’s not setting a good example for his students that he’s around daily.”
“Some people make mistakes, but that’s a mistake you don’t do, and you don’t put it on Facebook,” she said.
Lakeview School District officials confirmed to Fox 17 that May was placed on administrative leave after the incident, though it’s unclear whether it’s a paid leave or not.
“This weekend, concerns regarding a social media post involving a district administrator were brought to the attention of Lakeview School District,” district spokeswoman Wendy Meyer said in a prepared statement. “While the event did not take place during work hours, the behaviors depicted in the video do not meet the standard of professionalism expected of district leadership.
“The matter is under investigation following district policy,” she wrote.
May did not respond to a request for comment from WWMT.
