DURHAM, N.C. – A North Carolina teacher is in a time-out after she was busted in an audio recording in an expletive-filled tirade against her students sparked by the 2016 election results.
Shepard Middle School language arts teacher Majonica Haithcox was recorded in class this week sounding off on students about Donald Trump’s historic win Tuesday that earned her an indefinite suspension pending further disciplinary action, WNCN reports.

“Don’t talk to me! I don’t give a (expletive),” the teacher screamed at her students. “The social climate is too intense for us to keep acting like a (expletive) fool. We are smart. We don’t do that (expletive).”
Haithcox then went after students and their parents.
“You can think it’s funny now but y’all be the ones crying 10 years from now, ‘oh, I should have listened to her,’” she said. “Get your (expletive) together.”
“Tell your parents. I’ll call them on the phone and cuss them out, too,” Haithcox continued. “After the first week I stopped giving a damn because y’all didn’t give a damn.”
“I’m cursing at you because this is honestly the only way It’s gonna hit y’all,” she said. “I gotta be real with y’all, I’m a real-ass (expletive) that’s what it is. I keep it real. I keep it honest. Y’all are (expletive) up.”
Haithcox, who teaches eighth-grade, also complained about her job, WNCN reports.

“I’m losing sleep. I’m waking up at 2 in the (expletive) morning to make sure y’all have work,” she said. “Maybe they’ll give you some white teachers that care about y’all.”
WNCN posted the nearly 6-minute rant online. School officials, of course, were not impressed with what they heard.
“I will not tolerate yelling and foul language with students. My statement this week was clear: we must provide a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for all students,” superintendent Bert L’Homme said in a prepared statement.
“The teacher in question has been suspended pending a recommendation for disciplinary action,” he wrote.
WNCN attempted unsuccessfully to contact Haithcox for comment, but at least one student defended the teacher.
Haithcox is “nice actually,” the unidentified student told the news site, “but she was upset about the election results, and her anger came out on us.”
Commenters online both condemned and mocked the language arts teacher.
“I wonder who she voted for,” stevedevel posted.
“I be a language arts teacher, yo!” Morrigan added.
“If a white teacher said ‘maybe they’ll give you some black teacher that care about y’all’ the NAACP and the media would be calling for her head on a platter,” Snug NRali wrote. “Typical left wing racism.”
