A Louisiana teacher and her husband, a former sheriff’s deputy, are awaiting trial for allegedly serving students baked goods with a sick special surprise, as well as other depraved crimes.

A fourth lawsuit stemming from the case filed this week alleges that Dennis and Cynthia Perkins not only served up tainted cupcakes to unsuspecting students, but also exposed some to explicit sexual images and prodded them into creating pornography.

The Advocate reports:

The four civil lawsuits, all filed separately since November, surround the pair’s counts of mingling harmful substances. The Attorney General’s Office, and subsequently the lawsuits, claim Dennis Perkins introduced semen into batches of cupcakes that Cynthia intentionally served to her students at Westside Junior High School in November 2018 and May 2019.

One lawsuit claims the father of a student who ate the cupcakes hasn’t been able to find gainful employment since the incident because of debilitating depression, and another claims a parent and child have had mental health, behavioral and sleep issues since learning of the allegations.

The most recent lawsuit, filed by a family Monday, claimed that in addition to having their daughter eat the cupcakes, Cynthia Perkins showed the student explicit and sexual images as well as photographed and videotaped her.

Cynthia Perkins, 35, worked for the Livingston Parish School District since 2009, and at Westside Junior High School since 2016. Dennis Perkins, 44, was the head of the SWAT team at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he worked from 2002 until the couple’s arrest in October. They are now awaiting trial on hundreds of charges, though a date has not been set because the court is closed due to the coronavirus.

WAFB detailed the couple’s depravity last month.

Dennis and Cynthia Perkins have been indicted on 150 felonies, some of which involve sex acts against two juveniles under the age of 13, “two non-consenting adults, various unsuspecting victims by means of ingesting harmful substances and an animal,” according to court filings. …

Prosecutors say that a review of electronic devices they found include several child pornography pictures. Because of that, original charges on the husband and wife were amended to include 60 additional charges. According to the filing, in those 60 pictures, Cynthia Perkins is seen moving a sleeping child’s clothes to expose the child’s privates as well as having sex with her husband with the child asleep directly next to them or on top of the child. The pictures also showed Dennis and Cynthia allegedly forcing a female child to perform oral sex on him,” investigators said.

The long list of sick crimes include everything from the couple secretly recording women and children, to recorded public sex acts, to plans and supplies to drug and rape women or children, evidence the couple carried out the plans, child pornography searches, and allegations of physical and sexual abuse of children.

Investigators recovered over 5 terabytes of encrypted data backed up on the couple’s various electronic devices, according to the news site.

Livingston Parish Schools spokeswoman Delia Taylor declined to comment on the lawsuits against the district, which all “claim some kind of negligence on the school board’s behalf, either in hiring Cynthia Perkins, a lack of oversight of her behavior or a violation of school policies in allowing homemade food items to be served to students,” WBRZ reports.

“ …(I)n a response the school board’s attorney filed in one of the previous cases earlier this month, the district denies any wrongdoing and claims that the plaintiffs asserting any criminal or intentional wrongdoing on the board’s behalf is libelous and defamatory,” WBRZ reports.
