CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. – A former Georgia middle school band teacher faces life in prison for allegedly molesting a child.

Details are scarce, but Lakeview Middle School band teacher Thomas Blevins was fired from his job after he was charged with several sex crimes, including aggravated child molestation, child molestation and false imprisonment of a juvenile, WRCBtv.com reports.

“In late November, Blevins resigned as the director of bands after allegations he sent inappropriate text messages to a student,” the news site reports. “On Tuesday, officers searched his home in Sequatchie County. Investigators seized a computer, camera and a phone from the home but Blevins was not there.

“Officers went back later that night and took him into custody.”

Media reports do not detail the specifics behind the alleged crimes, but the charges themselves say enough. Blevins could spend the rest of his life behind bars if convicted of all of the crimes, according to WRCBtv.com.
