NYACK, N.Y. – A high school history teacher is facing misdemeanor drunk driving charges after he backed into another car in the parking lot of a strip club.

LoHud.com reports Donald Hains was arrested Friday after his driving mishap at Stiletto’s Gentlemen’s Cabaret and taken to police headquarters where he took a Breathalyzer test that revealed his blood-alcohol content to be “more than double the legal limit of 0.08 percent.”

“(Haines) faces misdemeanor charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated per se,” LoHud.com reports.

Since the Stiletto strip club does not serve alcohol, it’s not clear “how Hains came to be drunk outside the club,” the news site notes.

The educator was released without bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.

“He’s well respected by the students. He coaches the golf team for us and has been with us for a number of years,” Nyack Public Schools Superintendent James Montesano told the news site. “Beyond that, I can’t comment on the nature of the charges. He’s very well established within our school community.”
