FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A Colorado State University student allegedly stole an ambulance, took it for a “joy ride” and it all went downhill from there.

Cops say Stefan Sortland, an 18-year-old CSU student was still behind the wheel of the emergency vehicle when they found him. The ambulance was damaged and Sortland was allegedly wearing an EMT safety vest, according to CBS.

They couldn’t see what was in his hands so they Tasered him. It turned out to be a box of Wheat Thins.

After he was apprehended, he allegedly told police “he went to a Halloween concert where he took ‘molly’ and cocaine,” according to 7 News.

One officer said it appeared the driver of the ambulance had hit the raised median, jumped the curb, hit a sign, went the wrong way and crossed back over the median before stopping.

He was apprehended about 12 miles away from where he allegedly stole the ambulance, which was on campus treating an intoxicated student having seizures.

The CSU student was taken into the Loveland Police Department, where he “stood on a bench, kicked the wall, and masturbated,” The Denver Channel reports.

He allegedly told officers his “friends/roommates were dead, in heaven, and had committed suicide.” They were found a short time later and were fine.

Police say he also punched a correctional officer who was delivering a meal.

Sortland is charged with aggravated vehicle theft, obstructing EMS, reckless driving, hit-and-run, criminal mischief, attempted motor vehicle theft, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and assault, according to the Examiner.
