JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Parents at a Jacksonville charter school want employees busted drinking beers on campus to lose their jobs.

Several employees at an unidentified Jacksonville charter school owned by Charter Schools USA were busted drinking beers while they appear to be on the job in the school’s office after the images were forwarded to WTVL.

At least six pictures, which were emailed to WTVL, originally came in the form of text messages that appear to be from the drinking employees, one of which reads “Drinking in the principals office during 5^th/6^th dance.”

The three school employees in the pictures are wearing safety vests and kicking back with their feet on desks while swigging Bud Lights.

Some parents of students at the school were upset by the images.

“It’s shocking, because that’s on school grounds,” one unidentified mother told the news site, “it’s shocking.”

Charter Schools USA confirmed the incident occurred at a school in Duval County, Florida, but refused to divulge details to the media. A company spokesman told WTVL students were not in the building during the drinking.

Charter Schools USA also issued a formal statement:

“We hold our educators to the very highest level of professionalism and will take very swift and serious actions … this is not acceptable behavior on our school grounds and we can assure you that we will conduct a thorough investigation and take all appropriate actions.

“I definitely think they should be terminated because that is on school grounds,” another unidentified parent told WTVL. “If you want to do something like that, take it to your home, don’t do it on school property.”

Other parents were less concerned.

“They are adults and people do that so yeah, I am not concerned that next week in the middle of fifth period they are going to break out Budweisers or something,” a father told WTVL.

J Wayne Wise commented on the issue and seemed to agree with the anonymous father.

“What’s wrong with a beer among adults?” he questioned. “The whining parents should check up on their little darlings for drugs.”

“It was during a school function, where they should be chaperoning and not drinking beer in the office,” Kelli Owen countered, garnering a few “Likes.”
