GLEN ALLEN, Va. – Virginia shop teacher Domonic Leuzzi is out of a job and faced with criminal charges after police allege he let students blaze marijuana during class.

Leuzzi, 23, is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors after students allegedly told school officials he let them smoke marijuana in his classroom at The Academy at Virginia Randolph, an alternative high school for troubled teens, WRIC reports.

“We got a call from the administration of Henrico County Public Schools saying they received information from students that a teacher was allowing them to smoke marijuana in class,” Henrico County Police Lt. Chris Eley told the news site.

“In my 18 years in police, I haven’t seen anything like this,” he said.

Court records show at least three students allegedly partook in the illegal smoking, which was reported to school officials March 4, the Daily Mail reports.

A Henrico County Public Schools spokesperson told WRIC Leuzzi is no longer employed by the school district, and he didn’t answer the door when a reporter stopped at his home.

Several folks online cracked jokes at Leuzzi’s expense.

“He was just trying to calm them down,” Michelle Ceroky wrote. “Very important to be calm around all those tools.”
