ROOSEVELT, Long Island – Nassau County police contend school security guard Daniel Williams recorded a student using the bathroom, then uploaded the video to Snapchat.
Police arrested Roosevelt High School security guard Daniel Williams, 24, Wednesday afternoon while he was on the job and charged with unlawful surveillance and endangering the welfare of a child, ABC 7 reports.

“This is a rather embarrassing situation for the victim. I can tell you, the defendant did go into the bathroom, did follow the student in, and he was able to videotape the student using the bathroom,” Nassau County Police Det. Lt. Richard Lebrun told the news site.
“Then he posted it to Snapchat.”
The social media app allows users to send messages, pictures and video that is available for a limited time only. It’s a favorite among people who like to share inappropriate images.
It’s unclear exactly how school officials were tipped off to the video, but police said the Tuesday incident involved a 16-year-old boy, the Merrick Patch reports.
“The school was alerted of this personnel at the school. Once they found out, they called police, detectives came and they were able to view the Snapchat,” Lebrun said.
He said Williams saved the video to his phone.

School officials released a prepared statement about Williams’ arrest.
“The security guard is administratively reassigned to home with pay, meaning he is not to report to work and may not enter school grounds during period of reassignment unless he receives written approval,” the statement read.
ABC 7 reports Williams was released with a ticket to appear in court, and “his family claimed they don’t know where he is.”
PIX11 News went to West Babylon and spoke to Williams’ grandmother, who was shocked by the allegations.
“Please go away,” she told a reporter.
Williams is due to appear in the First District Court in Hempstead April 11.
