GREEN BAY, Wis. – A Green Bay high school student was banned from wearing a t-shirt supporting Donald Trump to school because officials allege it violates the student dress code.

WFRV reports that an unidentified student at Preble High School in Green Bay was told by school officials Thursday not to ever wear a Donald Trump shirt to school again, and cited a school dress code that prohibits clothing that could cause a disruption to learning.

The news site provided no other details about the incident, but cited the school’s dress code and an “expectation handbook” every family is required to sign at the start of school.

“It is not a very strict policy as far as what students can or can’t wear,” said Lori Blakeslee the director of communication for the district. “But, it does state in there that what students do wear can’t impact the safety or the learning for all students.”

The dress code states that the “responsibility for the personal appearance of students enrolled in the district shall normally rest with the students themselves or their parents/guardians,” but warns that “student dress or grooming should not affect the health or safety of students or disrupt the learning process within the classroom or school.”

Ironically, Preble High School social studies teacher Jeff Kline told WFRV he is working to engage students in the 2016 election.

“I love all this as a social studies teacher,” he said. “You can not have a more exciting presidential campaign.”

“I want them to participate,” Kline said, “I want them to make up their own mind to what candidates they support and why.”

The Green Bay student isn’t the only one to face problems at school over support for the Republican presidential frontrunner.

Twitter user “Emanuel.” posted a picture March 30 showing what happened to him at school for wearing a Trump t-shirt.

“Just got jumped in the bathroom for wearing a Trump shirt. Here’s my front tooth,” the teen posted, along with pictures of a busted out tooth and blood in what appears to be a communal bathroom.

“Post a picture of your missing tooth I don’t believe you,” user kayla wrote.

“Emanuel.” Then responded with a picture showing his left central incisor snapped in half, Western Journalism reports.

“I did/have done absolutely nothing to deserve getting jumped and threatened for my life,” Emanuel tweeted.

Amazingly, the attack prompted several Twitter users to attack “Emanuel.” for having the audacity to support The Donald.

“Make you think twice about your vote huh,” G-Baby wrote.

“Serves you right,” brokenvessel added.

Others – including those who do not support Trump – condemned the attack, or encouraged the teen to file a police report.

“While I am not a supporter of Trump at all, I don’t think someone should be beaten for supporting the candidate of their choice,” Ana C tweeted.

“Did you file a police complaint?” Vishwajeet Pandey questioned. “Please do so. They should suffer action for real assaults at least.”
