MILWAUKEE – A cell phone video of a Milwaukee teacher’s aide grabbing a 14-year-old student by the throat and slamming him to the floor may have been pre-planned by the student and his friends.
The short video, which was recorded in April and went viral online, shows the aide violently shove the Bay View High School student against a desk before he grabbed the boy by the neck with both hands and slammed him through chairs and desks to the ground.

It was recorded by students and shared to Fox 6’s Facebook page within an hour.
The teacher’s aide, 39-year-old Jasmine Pennix, was fired from his job and charged with physical abuse of a minor, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
But Pennix’ attorney has filed a court motion claiming that the student who was allegedly victimized may have pre-planned a confrontation with Pennix to produce a video that would result in a lawsuit against Milwaukee Public Schools.
“According to the court document, an adult witness came forward recently and told an investigator for the defense that the day before the April 20 incident, the person was standing near four teens at a bus stop near Bay View High and overheard them talking,” the Journal Sentinel reported. “One said to the others, ‘I will get in his face, and you get ready to video it. Once it happens, we can sue MPS and get rid of him.’
“The motion suggests that the plot explains why the video does not show the physical provocation that Pennix says caused his reaction and distorts ‘the truth of what actually happened,’ which was an attack on Pennix.

“The witness, who is not identified, even by gender, said he or she assumed the boys were talking about another student or teacher, but after seeing news stories days later about Pennix, realized he was probably the target, since the witness had also heard the boys refer to what the witness heard as ‘Pinix.’”
The student who was allegedly assaulted by Pennix “has a serious juvenile crime record,” the Journal Sentinel reported.
He was recently arrested for allegedly breaking into a car dealership with other kids and stealing cars, according to FOX6 News. He’s also been on probation for “attacking a man with an ice chunk in January,” the news service reported.
