WASHINGTON, D.C. – Eighteen short months ago, the coalition group “One Nation Working Together” was busy promoting President Obama’s wealth redistribution talking points, and was getting plenty of coverage from the sympathetic national media.

The group was the latest incarnation of a manufactured show-of-force on the left. It was a vehicle to whip up the most radical elements of American liberalism. It was embraced with fervor by more “mainstream” yet politically-charged groups like the NAACP.

A year and a half later, what happened to “One Nation”? If it’s any indication, its website, onenationworkingtogether.org, now offers counseling for Japanese pharmacists. See the translated version here.

The unions didn’t even bother to pay the $11.99 to maintain the domain name. That’s how big of a sham it was, and the media fell for the ruse.

Of course “One Nation” morphed into Occupy Wall Street, which the media also embraced as a genuine popular movement to reshape American society. Now that Occupy is dying off, what will be next? We’ll have to wait and see.

But we can be sure of one thing – the next supposedly popular “movement” that promotes socialistic and anti-American ideals will get all the sympathetic press coverage it could ever hope for. These groups accomplish next to nothing, but they remain close to the mainstream media’s heart.
