MOORE, Okla. – A 51-year-old Moore High School teacher faces a felony count of forcible oral sodomy after she was busted on surveillance cameras kissing and canoodling with a 17-year-old student in Oklahoma City.
School officials alerted police after they learned of allegations that teacher Sandra Mayfield was engaged in an inappropriate relationship with one of her students, and police followed up by interviewing the teen, who spilled the beans, KFOR reports.

The alleged incident occurred Feb. 27 in and around Oklahoma City and culminated at Buck Thomas Park, where the student told police Mayfield performed oral sex on him in the back seat of her vehicle.
“They met at a business here in Moore, drove around in Oklahoma City, made a few stops, ended up late that night at a park here in Moore, Buck Thomas Park, where she performed oral sex on the 17-year-old,” Monroe Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis told the news site.
Lewis said the student’s statement to police was consistent with video surveillance footage of the two in Oklahoma City and cell phone records, News 9 reports.
“There was surveillance in Oklahoma City that showed them together kissing,” Lewis said. “That was proof that they were everywhere, pretty much everything he gave us checked out.”
School officials alerted police of the revelations after someone reported the relationship to a school resource officer March 4, the same day they put Mayfield on administrative leave, KFOR reports.
Moore Public Schools director of safety Dustin Horstkoetter told the Norman Transcript that the alleged sexual abuse in February is the only inappropriate contact between the two that the district is aware of.

“Obviously, we are not pleased that it involved a teacher and one of her students,” he said.
Mayfield, who has no prior criminal history, was released after pleading not guilty and posting a $1,000 bond in March, and she’s expected back in Cleveland County court July 28 for a preliminary hearing, according to the news site.
Mayfield is prohibited from having contact with the alleged victim and is banned from school property, the Daily Mail reports.
Moore district officials issued an official statement on the allegations against Mayfield shortly after her arrest.
“The charges field this afternoon against our employee are shocking and upsetting and are not representative of the hundreds of other teachers who work hard every day to provide a safe and quality education for the students of the Moore Public School District,” the statement read.
“As always, we will continue to cooperate with the police department and District Attorney’s Office. We are thankful for their diligent work in this matter and have full confidence in the legal process.
“At this time, being consistent with any incidents such as this, the employee remains on administrative leave while the case works its way through the court process.”
