NEW BERLIN, Wis. – A Wisconsin high school teacher who had sex with a 16-year-old student during her fiancée’s bachelor party and texted the teen while on her honeymoon pleaded guilty this week to sexual assault.

Former New Berlin High School English teacher Sara Domres, 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and is expected to be sentenced September 30, KTLA reports.

Domres “became friends and began testing … a lot” with a 16-year-old male student in her class during the 2014-15 school year, using nicknames for each other like “baby boo” and declaring their love for each other, according to investigators.

The relationship continued into the next school year, when Domres had sex with the teen at a Motel 6 in Brookfield on the same evening her soon-to-be husband was out with friends for a bachelor party last October. The two had sex again at a Park and Ride in New Berlin in July 2015, according to Fox 43.

In total, the student said the two had sex between 10 and 15 times, according to the New York Daily News.

According to the criminal complaint cited by the news sites, investigators “determined that between May 14, 2015 and January 6, 2016, the victim sent the defendant approximately 619 text messages. Between March 29, 2015 and January 15, 2016, the defendant sent the victim approximately 555 text messages.”

The victim told police some of the messages included selfies Domres sent while on her honeymoon, and investigators said Domres’ husband found the two together in a parking lot at a New Berlin restaurant, Fox 43 reports.

Police confirmed the romantic rendezvous at the Motel 6 because the victim’s phone connected to the building’s Wi-Fi. Other evidence showed Domres conducted Google searches on her phone that included “What’s the prison sentence for a teacher sleeping with a student?” according to WISN.

The New Berlin school district learned of the allegations against Domres in January – when the victim’s friends alerted authorities – and officials placed her on administrative leave.

Domres was later fired her after an internal investigation.

The former teacher was charged with the two felony counts in April, when her husband came with her to court to show his support.

The answer to her Google search: Domres faces up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine for each of her two felony charges.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction told WISN Domres’ teaching license was issued in 2011 and it’s been under investigation since February 9, 2016.
