SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – An acclaimed percussionist and lecturer at Stanford University is accused of stalking his former elementary school students, in women’s underwear.
Mark Veregge – a percussion teacher who performed with the California Symphony, San Francisco Symphony and other elite ensembles – faces a prowling charge for visiting the home of a former elementary student in the middle of the night to perform an odd ritual.

According to CBS San Francisco:
The victims told investigators their surveillance cameras captured Veregge several times parking in front of their home, walking up to their daughter’s car, checking if it was unlocked and then turning around and driving off.
Each time, they say, Veregge was wearing only women’s underwear.
The videos showed Veregge wearing a bra and high heels during some of the visits. In others, he’s wearing only the underwear. The family told police they first noticed Veregge near their home in 2015, and after installing security cameras this year, recorded him visiting on numerous occasions. The family is unsure how many times Veregge came by since 2015 or why he targeted his former student, according to the Daily Mail.
CBS San Francisco reports Veregge allegedly visited the home of another student, as well, also in the middle of the night while wearing women’s underwear.
The misdemeanor prowling charge carries a jail sentence of up to nine months, as well as a $1,000 fine, though his victims told the news site they believe he should face a more serious crime.
Veregge did not answer the door when a CBS San Francisco reporter visited his San Jose home, but his neighbor said The Julliard School graduate seems like a normal, friendly guy.
“I never had any concern with having them next to us,” Gerald Macedo said, adding that the allegations are hard to believe.

“I would prefer to see the videos myself before I make any sort of statement about that,” he said.
Folks who learned about Veregge’s creepy behavior online poked fun at the teacher.
“Jesus, can’t a guy have a little fun anymore?” Stuart Singer posted to Facebook.
“But he’s tenured so try to fire him!” Hank Miller added.
“LMFAO,” John Burns wrote, “watch the lgbt community back this guy.”
