PHILADELPHIA – Samantha Pawlucy, the Philadelphia teen who was allegedly bullied by her geometry teacher for wearing a Mitt Romney t-shirt, returned to school this morning.

She was greeted by a rally in her honor.

A number of military veterans lined the school’s sidewalk, many of them holding pro-Pawlucy signs and the American flag.

Pawlucy was visibly moved when the crowd began singing the “Star Spangled Banner” and placing extra emphasis on song’s final line: “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Joe Eastman, one of the event organizers, said the rally was only about showing support for a student who had been bullied by an adult, not politics.

“This is just wrong. If that child had worn an Obama t-shirt and gotten harassed, I’d raise hell about it too,” Eastman told Breitbart.com. “She goes into the one place you would think a child would be safe and not experience bullying, harassment and churlish behavior on the part of teacher or adult.”

A reporter asked Pawlucy what she’s learning from the experience.

“Learning that it’s right to do what I believe in, perseverance, not to give up, and fight,” Pawlucy responded.

“Good things in life are hard.”
