CHICAGO – We’re happy to note that someone else has noticed and is troubled by the recent rash of teacher strikes in Illinois.
We were beginning to think Illinois residents have become so accustomed to teacher strikes that they no longer notice or care very much when they happen.

But the Illinois Public Policy Institute has just released a short video called “Contagion,” which notes that teachers unions in at least five other school districts in the state have followed the lead of the Chicago Teachers Union and either went on strike in recent weeks or threatened to do so.
The video warns “roadblocks to (education) reform are being erected throughout the state,” and that the strikes may be “the early stages of labor unrest that could consume the state.”
The question is whether Illinois lawmakers will stand up to the union thugs or continue to let them shape public policies that protect union power and greed, according to the video.
Give it a look. It’s well-produced and only takes a minute or two to watch.
