GILFORD, N.H. – William Baer has provided EAGnews with the full 10-minute video of his public comments during Monday night’s Gilford school board meeting and his subsequent arrest.

Baer is the New Hampshire father who was justifiably upset when his 14-year-old daughter was recently assigned “Nineteen Minutes” – a controversial novel by Jodi Picoult that’s filled with foul language and an explicit sex scene – without any advanced warning from the school.

As Baer points out in the video, Monday night’s board meeting was attended by students who were there for a lesson in how America’s civic institutions work.

Unfortunately, that’s just what they got.

School board members limited public comments to two minutes, and refused to answer any questions about why the district acted with such poor judgment.

All in all, it was a good lesson for young citizens to see how the powerful insulate themselves from the public and how they avoid accountability.
