AURORA, Colo. – A Colorado high school teacher is on paid administrative leave while district officials conduct an investigation into revealing pictures and references to drug activity posted on her Twitter page.

Overland Park High School teacher Carley McKinney, known on Twitter as @crunk_bear, is under investigation by the Cherry Creek School District after she allegedly posted semi-nude pictures of herself, as well as other pictures and posts boasting about smoking pot, according to news reports.

McKinney, 23, is a first-year, 10th grade math teacher. She told a local television station she launched the Twitter account with a friend as a parody, and she wasn’t aware of what the friend had posted.

The @crunk_bear account has been disabled, but many of the posts to the account have been cached, and are available through searches on Google and Topsy.com.

Still visible are dozens of tweets about marijuana, as well as numerous photos of McKinney, some semi-nude, some allegedly smoking pot, and others.

“One post said that the person tweeting was high while grading papers, another described the irony of a drug bust on school property while the person behind the tweets claims she had marijuana in her car in the staff parking lot,” the Huffington Post reports.

School officials said they put McKinney on paid administrative leave while they conduct an investigation. The teacher is expected to meet with school officials soon to learn what, if any, disciplinary action might be taken.

“We fully respect her First Amendment rights, but we need to know if any of her personal behavior violated district policy and/or state or federal law,” Tustin Amole, director of communications for the Cherry Creek School District.
