MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis teacher and his roommate are facing statutory rape charges for allegedly having sex with two different students.

Michael Lewis, 31, a teacher and coach at Bolton high School, is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student both in his classroom and at his house, WMCT reports. His Memphis firefighter roommate, 31-year-old Bryan Wilson, is also facing accusations of having sex with a different 17-year-old student.

According to police, a female student at Bolton High school admitted to having consensual sex with her teacher. She told police that she stayed overnight at his house on multiple occasions and had sex inside the school numerous times.

The second student told police that she stayed with Wilson at least ten nights and had consensual sex five times, the story reports.

Both men have been relieved of duty pending internal investigations into the matter.

This is the second time in less than a year that a Bolton teacher and coach faced allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student, reports WREG.

LaTorrence Bivens, a former math teacher at the school, was fired last April after a parent alleged that he was having sexual encounters with a student.

Wilson is facing up to four years in prison for aggravated statutory rape and Lewis could face up to six years in prison if convicted of statutory rape by an authority figure.

The charges involve a victim at least 13 years old and less than 18, and an offender who is at least 10 years older than the victim.
