SACRAMENTO, Calif. – STOPP research has revealed that a whopping 83 percent of the total income of two California Planned Parenthood affiliates is from government sources. The numbers are reported in the affiliates’ latest annual reports.

That is a huge percentage, and almost twice the reported percentage of government income nationwide from Planned Parenthood Federation of America. PPFA, in its 2012-2013 annual report, says that across the nation 45.7 percent of Planned Parenthood’s total income is derived from government sources.

When STOPP’s Rita Diller set out to discover the sources of funding for California Planned Parenthood affiliates, she found that four of the seven affiliates operating facilities within California were surprisingly transparent about their government funding.

Here are their shocking government income numbers:

* Planned Parenthood Northern California reports $35.2 million in government income—83 percent of total revenue.

* Planned Parenthood Mar Monte reports $78 million in government income—83 percent of total revenue.

* Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, Inc. reports in its six months fiscal report $21.8 million government income—72 percent of total revenue.

* Planned Parenthood of Santa Barbara, Ventura & San Luis Obispo Counties, Inc. reports $10.4 million government income—66 percent of total revenue.

The lion’s share of the California Planned Parenthood affiliates’ government funding comes from one source—the State Office of Family Planning through the Family PACT program. For the four affiliates that disclosed PACT funding, it totaled $104.2 million, or 58 percent of total revenue.

The next largest source of government funding for the affiliates is Medi-Cal, Medicare, and Title X. Those programs paid $35.6 million or 16.25 percent of total revenue. When taken together, the four Planned Parenthood affiliates received $140 million, or an average of 74 percent of total revenue from these government sources alone.

Though Planned Parenthood continually claims that government funding cannot be used to pay for abortions, it is a documented fact that Medicaid pays for abortion in California and 14 other states.

Government funding is absolutely necessary for the survival of Planned Parenthood. When government funding is slashed, Planned Parenthood will quickly be forced to shut its doors. Every penny that is cut from Planned Parenthood brings it that much closer to having to close facilities. It is outrageous that hard-working Americans are continually forced to give more and more of their income to the nation’s largest abortion chain—a business that is intent on stripping innocence and morality from our children and exposing them to the most vile and perverse sexual indoctrination.

We need elected representatives who will work without ceasing to defund Planned Parenthood. The abortion giant’s big, fat, bloody pocketbook is a direct route to its demise.
